Q: Why can't I just go and get my own truck from the military?

A: YOU CAN! But, if you wanted a hamburger would you buy the restaurant? Don't be mislead that a military truck dealer is "making a killing" on you. As with most things it's easier said than done.
As a military truck dealer we provide a service that you would be hard pressed to see any savings by doing it yourself. This service includes previewing dozens of vehicles at many different locations all across the country, to find salvageable trucks that may be worth reconditioning. Then after making the investment, and yes we do pay plenty to aquire good trucks ( the days of the $50 jeeps are over) you take the risk that their was not something unforeseen (keep in mind that these trucks rarely run, and very few if any are in drivable condition). Then you must overcome the logistics of how do I get it home if it does not run? How can it be transported? Who loads it? How do I schedule removing it from an active military base? If by the rare chance it can be driven, has it been lubed within the last ten years? Is the fuel old? What do I do if the transmission drops out on the interstate ( don't laugh, I'm speaking from experience). Not to mention how do I deal with the Department of Defense so they trust that I'm not sending the vehicle to Iraq.
Don't forget the insurance if your moving something down the interstate that weighs 12 tons, you better be covered. Oh ya, what about the weigh stations, DMV, safety inspections, and a correct title. I almost forgot to mention that this all has to be done within a certain time limit or you forfeit the vehicle! Get the point? It can be done. Remember the hamburger? This is what you get when you purchase a truck from a competent military truck dealer. We take the risk, make the investment, and spend the time to provide you with a usable vehicle. Your time would be put to better use finding a military truck dealer that can meet your needs.
