Critter's First Trip to the Zoo

Posted on June 29th

Due to an approaching thunderstorm, we headed to the Cat House. This allowed us to see most of the zoo's cats and got us out of the thunderstorm. Unfortunately, about a hundred other people, mostly members of a shrieking girl scout troop, had the same idea.

Here we are looking at a pair of Ocelots. This is an interesting picture due to the reflections.

Here is a cloud leopard lounging. He was a very beautiful creature, but got rather upset when the Girl Scouts would not leave him alone. He was snarling at them, which only encouraged them to be more obnoxious.

Here is a mommy and baby Ocelot. The baby was born early this year (2003).

Once the rain died down, we went outside. As we were leaving, we passed this beautiful bobcat who was sitting and enjoying the fresh, sweet air.
